I am not sure yet wether or not it will live up to it's claim of keeping ice, but of the few times it was used it kept ice better than any cooler I've had so far.The workmanship, material and overall quality of this cooler is excellent. Quite pricey, but seems to be the thing, "you get what you pay for" so far. On the up side, it is the density of the quality insulation that makes it hard to compact but also keeps food cold for a couple of days in Arizona in July. Being soft, it can also fit into a tightly packed car more more flexibly than a hard cooler. Because our journey is only 2 hours, most coolers are good at keeping things cool enough. My impression of this one, based on other reviews, is that this product excels at keeping things cool for long periods of time. What we really needed was something large enough to transport quite a bit and something easy to carry back and forth to the car. Finally, I wanted to make sure we had a cooler that would give us some flexibility (not a hard-sided thing) but that would sit square in the car so we could pack tightly around it.Much to my dismay, even when empty, I can't seem to get the coolers two carry handles together. Even the velcro cover strap included doesn't keep the handles together. That makes it nearly impossible to carry this cooler (and it gets quite heavy) with anything other than a shoulder strap.
