Don't have to buy ice anymore, or empty out the melted water. I'm very happy with the cooler, but wish their customer service policies made a little more sense: When a hinge broke, I tried to get it replaced under warranty. But the company says it can't supply replacement parts. They would only replace the entire cooler, which is just dumb, as the cooler works fine. It's great to not have to worry about melting ice or thawing cold-packs that can leave food warm and soggy. The only downside (and why 2 stars instead of 5) is the plug - the side contacts are too high and it fits too loose in the outlet. So far it has worked fairly well in the car (only occasionally losing electrical contact) but it does require checking on. The place where it doesn't fit well at all is the outlet for the converter. I can get it to work only after fiddling with it for a while, but sometimes it will lose contact despite not being moved or bumped at all. My plan is to cut off the AC plug and attach a new (better) one, probably from someplace like Radio Shack. I hope Igloo sees enough of these complaints and updates the plug, and that's what becomes available. Otherwise, know that you get a 5-star cooler with a 1-star plug, and that it will require a bit of work on your part to make... Read more |
